Dont be bothered by the future, the present requires your attention now.

Random

so much to post so little time. i always have things i want to post about but finding the time to write about them proves to be difficult. i have two in the hopper but may take some time to complete.

recently i downloaded the new aol software, or atleast new to me. i enjoy it so far. discovered XM radio. i like being able to listen to music while online. mostly just listen to christian rock and top christian. too many other stations to try and find good ones. i enjoy these ones.

had my best night of bowling two weeks ago. 174,160,188, which is not so spectacular but for me it is a personal best. i also threw a 105 just to make sure i stayed grounded. dont want to get too big of a head. hopefully i can remember what i was doing to bowl so well, otherwise its going to be back down near my average of 139.

Michigan State got the shaft by the referees in their last basketball game. true they may not have won but they would have had more of a chance than what the stripped men gave them. they should have had 8 seconds from an inbounds to get the shot off, instead they had less than 5 after a missed free throw. hopefully matt trannon plays basketball this year. if not they are going to have alot of trouble in the paint.

should i play indoor soccer next session? not sure i want to spend the money. obviously its not the playing soccer part but whether i want to spend the money to play with people i dont know. too hard to try and put a team together so i would probably play on the house team.

Societal Constraints

there are a couple of things that bother me. well maybe more than a couple but i will discuss here only a few. from where i sit, society has an unspoken understanding of labeling certain behavior 'kosher' or more importantly for this post, what is not 'kosher'. there is often ridicule and public humiliation associated with this behavior that has been labeled not 'kosher'.

1) liking 'chick flicks' when you are not a chick
i guess its kind of implied but i like certain 'chick flicks'. i say certain because some 'chick flicks' i just cant bring myself to see. there are two main reasons. 1)they almost always have a happy ending and 2)they have pretty actresses. there is almost an uncomfortable silence when i have admitted that an upcoming 'chick flick' looked good and that i wanted to go see it. i can almost see the shock/disbelief/laughter welling up in peoples eyes. i like to go to movies, all types of movies. taking into consideration reasons one and two above, why is it so strange that i would be interested in seeing a 'chick flick'? why is there a negative connotation associated with a normal, heterosexual male interested in seeing a movie that is labeled a 'chick flick'?

2) farting in public and smell of #2
everyone does it, everyones smells, why the hiding? it always seems like doing either in public is frowned upon. like its something we should keep private and not expose other people to. but its not like we are the only on ones that have smelly ones. every person has smelly #2 and everyone has farts that are smelly. although i do have one person in my family who says they have never farted in their life. still not sure about the validity of that one. why not embrace the smell and take ownership of the aroma God has blessed us with? maybe some people enjoy the smell?

my buck

Saturday

saturday was a good day hunting. i only saw one deer. but the one deer was a buck. a decent five pointer. nothing special but not bad for where i hunt. he walked staight towards me. as he got closer i decided to try and take a shot if available. the closer he came, i was preparing for him to turn and give me a chance to draw when he went behind a tree. 25 yards, 20 yards, 15 yards, his options were slowly dwindling to veer off to give me a chance to get the shot off. as he moved inside 10 yards i realized he wasnt going to turn broadside and i better try to get the shot before he got past me. with great trouble i drew my bow back as slow as i could with as little motion as possible (harder than i thought it would be to draw the bow back slow). amazingly he did not see me as i drew back, now inside five yards he turned broadside. i quickly put my sights on his chest, without having time to line up my peep sight properly i let the shot go.......we dropped him off at the butcher this weekend.
